I'd like to see ways in which I personally would be able to deal with the organization in Ethiopia directly. I'd pay good money for great coffee that isn't shoved down the processing line and would rather the farmers get more of MY dollar than the large companies that are taking advantage.
Is there any way we can do this?

I am a volunteer in a Spanish NGO called SETEM which is working to achieve Fair Trade in our country to assure better social conditions to producers in Developing Countries.
They recommended me to see this film, in order to know more about trade coffee, as we are going to interview Roaster Companys from our region to encourage them to obtein coffee from alternative trade. As film shows, and as you said, we can buy directly to producers, but maybe individually actions are not effective, we must think higher!
From my point of view, taking part of an NGO vinculated to Fair Trade Coffee helps to change this conventional trade which condemns developing countries to extreme poverty.

Okay it took some doing but I searched out all the links in the chain.
Here is the website for the Oromia coop featured in the film (you can't buy their coffee directly but bear with me)

The primary US importer of http://www.fairtrade.net/ certified fair trade coffees is Coop coffees, who brings in coffee from Oromia (which is certified by FLO). If you look in Coop Coffee's http://coopcoffees.com/who/members-of-cc (i.e. sellers in some cases) You can find quite a number that sell fair trade coffees of many types and SOME that specifically sell coffee from the Oromia Coop.

Although I cannot make a suggestion about Ethiopia, you can purchase coffee directly from a small producers association in Haiti at www.justhaiti.org. This coffee project is community led with all profits going to directly to the producers.

I am the founder of a small bespoke coffee roastery in London
I bought the DVD yesterday & watched this film for the first time tonight
I already buy coffee from Simon Wakefield, who featured in the film
I have sent him a message just now that I want to get in contact with him & work out a way that is transparent to consumers that a premium over the mkt price is returned to the farmer
We are only small, so it won't amount to much initially, but we will devise a transparent system will a very low administrative cost and consider having it externally audited for additional assurance

I was really interested in the idea of buying sun-dried coffee beans straight from the co-op, and roasting them myself. It's not going to solve the crises (rgunson has a better plan for that), but if there are a few of us who want to buy direct could we form our own co-op kind of thing here in the UK, and buy a couple of sacks directly at a good price that we split up between ourselves?

After realizing that most guides found the internet were focused on the most played characters classes in World of Warcraft. http://www.toppowerlevel.net (I know, I know.....DUH!)
I decided to bring along a much needed druid guide to powerleveling.

I've also assumed that you'll be soloing right up until 60 (if you start http://www.toppowerlevel.net/gamelist.php?fid=7656 doing high end instances before then you'll probably be forced to re-spec Resto like the rest of us are).
Also bear in mind this sequence may have a few steps which look pointless but in fact those steps are in there to http://www.toppowerlevel.net jump to the next useful talent.
